My fifth Executive MBA module at MSM this year was all about Global Responsibility. A very interesting yet complicated topic.
“I learned the importance of creating a corporate strategy that improves relationships with all stakeholders in the same time while creating a better and sustainable business environment.”.

Corporate Social Responsibility
The module on Global Responsibility consisted of courses in Global Responsibility & Ethics and Managing Cultural Diversity along with a work visit to Philips. I gained a better understanding of the interplay between business, governments and society in a globalized world. Customers, suppliers, employees, citizens and media expect companies to provide a contribution to the challenges of the 21st century such as climate change, resource scarcity and urbanization. Hence, I believe that organizations should consider social, economic and environmental issues in their strategy and daily operations.
“Having better understanding of CSR gives me the responsibility to help others become more aware, in addition to creating more value for customers as well as society”.
— Mazin
Managing Cultural Diversity
The Managing Cultural Diversity classes provided me with a conceptual and practical understanding of the role of culture and diversity in the achievement of an organization’s strategy. The classes paid specific attention to the complexity of managing people in a cross-cultural environment. The course provided me with hands-on insights into the impact of cultural factors in management and business, intercultural communication, working with cross-cultural teams, and international HR management.
